About Us

Why Old Line?

The name Old Line comes from Maryland’s proud history and the courage of the soldiers who helped earn the state its nickname during the American Revolutionary War.

In September 1776, Maryland soldiers fought bravely against British forces at the Battle of Brooklyn. During the retreat of the Continental Army, Maryland troops repeatedly charged against superior British forces, helping protect their fellow soldiers and allowing others to escape. Their bravery and sacrifice left a lasting mark on the American

Revolution.

These soldiers became known as the “Maryland Line,” and Maryland earned the enduring nickname “The Old Line State.”

That history represents more than a name. It stands for grit, courage, loyalty, and the determination to stand your ground when the challenge is greatest.

Those are values we respect, and they are values we want

Old Line Bat Co. to represent every time a player steps onto the field.
